Katie McClarty, director of the Center for College and Career Success in Pearson’s Research and Innovation Network describes the importance of working with middle grades students on college and career readiness. The Center researches how middle school experiences relate to later success and offers solutions to help students in their personal development and career exploration. Particular emphasis is placed on looking at student academic achievement, behavior, motivation, social engagement, school characteristics, and family circumstances.
