Teaching Executive Skills with Universal Design for Learning in Middle School

The Universal Design for Learning Guidelines 2.0 indicate practices to address significant barriers for diverse learners (CAST, 2011; Meyer et al., 2014). The UDL Guidelines recommend scaffolds be in place to ensure that a broad range of students have strategies to close any gaps between current and desired performance. Middle schools are experiencing challenges that arise not from the written curriculum but from the taught curriculum. (See references: https://tinyurl.com/laynehunter)
