AMLE offers professional development opportunities to affiliate leaders including an Affiliate Leaders Strand that is offered at the AMLE Annual Conference. This is an opportunity for those affiliate leaders who attend the annual conference to network and receive updated information. All sessions and breakouts are focused on developing and strengthening your affiliate organization. This event provides an excellent opportunity for affiliate leaders and AMLE leaders to meet in an informal setting. The Affiliate Leaders Strand will be on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

As a busy association professional, there is a growing recognition that being able to address the clutter within your daily routine, volunteer structure, and growing to-do list will result in greater productivity and a sense of accomplishment. Plan to attend this interactive session to learn top tips from organization and productivity experts who will provide practical approaches to help you to find more time and get more done.

"Creating Drama-Free Workplaces with Mission-Driven Leadership"

Understand how to read people (and yourself) by increasing your social and emotional intelligence. This is a fun, interactive workshop that will give you an enhanced understanding of group dynamics and tools you can bring back to your affiliate, your school and your home.

Improve your leadership of teams and organizations. This workshop offers insights and strategies for not just managing through today's challenging environment for leaders, but for thriving personally and professionally as you develop a growth mindset. You will learn practices informed by the academic principles of Transformational Leadership, including the latest research in neuroscience, social and emotional learning, human emergence, existential philosophy and educational theory. The interactive workshop includes opportunities for you to explore your own leadership style, recognize and address internal and external limits and barriers, and create new ways of responding that move you and your association colleagues towards their potential. You will leave the workshop with a plan which identifies top leadership challenges you wish to address and initial action plans.

"Leadership 101"

No matter whether you are a Supervisor, Manager or Administrator, leadership skills are imperative for your success. The core objective of Leadership 101 is to make leadership development relevant and practical for everyone by expanding your awareness of leadership traits, team development strategies, and the skills required to identify and manage conflict. Participation in this session will give you the framework, skills and knowledge to take your leadership to the next level.
