David Weber, PhD, has been a math and science teacher in both Canada and the United States for more than 25 years. He has been named a Coca-Cola Educator of Distinction as well as a finalist for the San Diego County Teacher of the Year. For the last 10 years, he has been teaching in a school where all students are low-income and first generation college bound. Since 2003, he has been leading workshops that focus on inquiry and authentic assessment for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme. He has also co-authored and edited resources for the IB that promote these core practices. Dave's firm belief that all students can learn has translated into practices that not only deliver content, but also help students build confidence, both mathematically and pesonally. "And every time they learn to believe in themselves, I learn to believe in myself a little bit more, too.
