Devorah Heitner, PhD , founder and CEO of Raising Digital Natives
, specializes in providing educators and families guidance and resources that help children thrive in our increasingly digital world. An experienced speaker, workshop leader, and advisor, Dr. Heitner has been published in Edutopia, Good Digital Parenting, and PBS Kids and has appeared on numerous news and morning television shows as an expert on mentoring young people in the digital age. Her TEDx "Empathy is the App" shares some of her research with young people. Dr. Heitner helps schools and other institutions cultivate a culture of digital citizenship. Her book Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World
is coming out in 2016 and her curriculum, Connecting Wisely
is used in schools across the United States. Dr. Heitner has a PhD in Media/Technology and Society from Northwestern University and has taught at DePaul University and Northwestern University.
