After leaving a career in Industrial Engineering to teach 8th grade English, Ryan Steuer helped create a PBL school within a school in Indianapolis. As one of the first New Tech Network middle schools in the country, this PBL school within a school shows Project Based Learning can lead to success on standardized tests and community impact. While still loving the middle grades, Ryan has now stepped out of the classroom to promote student centered learning practices by training and collaborating with educators as the Executive Director of Magnify Learning
. Ryan is also involved in afterschool STEM Initiatives and serves as the Chair of the STEM Professional Development Committee for the Indiana Afterschool Network
and on the leadership board of the Indiana Girls Collaborative Project
