Your Assignment: The Assignment Notebook
In This Issue: Middle school assignment notebooks or planners are great tools not only for recording assignments but also as conversation starters. Arranged by class and day, the planner can give you a sense of how each day looks for your middle schooler and allow you to ask more focused questions—"What's it like to have phys ed first period in the day?"
You can also use the planner to stay connected to the teacher by conveying information to them in the planner and letting them know they can write notes to you as well. The planner gives you an opportunity to casually check in with your student about the completion of their homework, and gives you a chance to support and compliment their growing organizational skills.
