School Improvement Assessment

The Assessment

The assessment is focused on three important areas of middle grades education.

  • Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Educators who value working with young adolescents develop curriculum, plan instruction, and carry out assessments in ways that actively engage every student.
  • Leadership and Organization
Leaders who demonstrate courage and are committed to this age group work collaboratively from a shared vision. Flexible organizational structures promote learning at all levels.
  • Culture and Community
The school is a close-knit community, safe and supportive. Each student has adult mentors and many opportunities for support and growth. The school actively involves families and works to include the larger community as well.

Here's how it works:

  • Contact Dru Tomlin (dtomlin@amle.org) to register your school for this easy and affordable online assessment (800-528-6672).
  • The School Improvement Assessment consists of 98 survey questions for your entire staff to assess and answer using any computer.
  • Individual survey answers are anonymous.
  • After the survey is completed by your staff, the results will be tabulated into a comprehensive report that will be sent to your school in PDF format to be reviewed and shared. This report will explain the results of the survey and identify in what areas your school is doing well or needs improvement.
