Professional Preparation Advisory Committee
Mission Statement: The mission of the Professional Preparation Committee is to provide leadership to professional educators with regard to middle school teacher preparation licensure, and National Board Certification. The committee's goals are to serve the needs of middle school teacher educators through professional development activities; promote growth in the number and quality of middle school teacher preparation programs; promote separate and distinct middle school licensure; monitor the development, revision, and implementation of the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE), formerly known as National Middle School Association, Standards on Middle Level Teacher Preparation; maintain active involvement with the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education; act as liaison with other professional teacher education associations; support the effort of other AMLE committees regarding middle school teacher education; assist in the promotion of AMLE publications relating to middle school teacher preparation and licensure; and support the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards by providing input into the development and implementation of all standards relating to middle level education.
